"High School - Love On" (Korean Drama, 2014) : An Insight

Few hours ago, I just finished one Korean Drama which I consider as one of the best dramas I've seen —HIGH SCHOOL - LOVE ON.
Nam Woo Hyun and Lee Seung Yeol of the popular boy band, Infinite, starred in this drama along with child actress, Kim Sae Ron.
I admit that before I start watching dramas, I check the profiles of the celebrities who are portraying the characters. I guess I'm quite picky.
I'm really fond of dramas that tackle "coming to age" ideals. And this drama, I think suits this quality I am looking for. Going back, so I checked the profiles and I was really surprised when I saw Kim Sae Ron's. She was born on the year 2000. I was like "Whuuuut?!" Anyway, it didn't matter to me. I thought that she's really pretty and lovely. Considering that she's a child actress, I believed that she's going to do an incredible job with this drama. And she did. Kudos to Kim Sae Ron! Such a wonderful girl. (I talk as if I worked with her. :D)
Woo Hyun, who plays the main role, did an amazing job as well. I actually fell in love with him. WOO HYUN-ah, saranghae! HAHA!
I checked on his profile and whoa, this is his first lead role. When I first knew that this boy band member is going to play the lead role I thought that he might not do well because he is used to singing and dancing, well, performing. But I was completely wrong. Oh dear, he amazed the heck out of me. He seriously did. He made me cry, laugh, annoyed and feel in love with his acting. Whenever I see him on my screen, I can't help but sigh because of amazement. Guys, he is really good. I'm still damn in love with him. I'm mesmerized. Hands down to Woo Hyun! :)
Woo Hyun and Sae Ron's age gap is 9 years. But it didn't bother me at all. They look like they're of the same age anyway. Both good looking. :)
Seung Yeol on the hand, he also did great. I admit that I support Woo Hyun - Sae Ron couple but wow, Seung Yeol was cool playing the third main role. His role was a bit rude though but man, he made his role really mean and cold in a "really handsome way." I mean, he'd probably make you really pissed with the way he portrayed his role because there were moments where he became a badass but I can say that as I see it, it implies that he gave a real justification with the role given to him. Well done, Seung Yeol! :)

The story revolves around SeulBi (Sae Ron), an angel who eventually became human because of love, WooHyun (Woo Hyun), a guy who grew up with his grandmother and had been longing for the love of a mother, and Sung Yeol (Sung Yeol) who tries to adjust from his parent’s divorce and remarriage. The three of them will go into a roller coaster type of story which the viewers will enjoy.

Well, I cannot spend the rest of this piece talking about all the casts, can I? But I also commend every cast member of this drama. I tell you, sometimes, when I watch a show, I wouldn't even mind knowing and remembering the names of the supporting characters but with this drama, I quite remember each of them. Knowing that this is a high school drama, for sure there'll be many cast members and yes, each of the cast members, I remember. Okay, let me start with the three cute bullies on the beginning episodes, Jae Suk, Tae Ho and Byung Wook, these guys are very stubborn in the drama. They bully hard but still they're all cute. I like the way they became really nice in the latter part of the drama. I also like the way they all had their own love interests especially Tae Ho and the class vice president. I just can't stop shrieking whenever I see him. ^^

Next up is the strong-willed Young Eun and  it girl Ye Na, they're really funny. The nurse, Phillip, Kwang Shik and the PE teacher, the other classmates, Mrs. Ahn and Mr. Hwang. Who could ever forget Ms. Gong? The Chairman of the board of education (also the first angel to become human), Sun Bae, oh yes, that annoying but hot Sun Bae. Whoa, there were a lot. I say that they all did well, really well. I just love them all. They made the drama a worth-watching one. There were moments when I watch a drama, I get bored and skip some scenes but with this, nope, not at all. I watched every scene. I actually repeated a lot of scenes because they were too funny. Often, I'd pause and burst into laughter especially with the presence of the chairman of the board of education. Wow. Just wow. I cannot contain my laughter whenever he enters the scene. Especially the scene when he was still pretending on not seeing Sun Bae. So funny! *clap clap ^^

One thing I also liked about this drama is that it showed and taught the viewers about the importance of “family.” Woo Hyun was raised by his grandmother, Ms. Gong and this is what struck me the most from this drama. There was affinity between Woo Hyun and I. :)  Well, I can relate to this part of the drama because my grandmother also took care of me since birth. That is why whenever there are “grandparent talks” and whenever I see things related to grandparents it hits a soft spot in me. I love the way Ms. Gong and Woo Hyun faced the struggles and conflicts that happened to them. I just love it!
 Love your grandparents! <3

This drama also taught us about the “respect” we should always lend our parents. No matter what shortcoming they’ve done and even if things go wrong, as their children, we must always keep the respect to our parents. Turn the world up-side-down and nothing can change the fact they are your parents. Respect and love them always no matter what the circumstances are because we’re really lucky to have them.
Next thing, this drama showed the significance of “waiting” when it comes to romantic love. (Deep!) I believe that there’s nothing wrong with waiting. If you rush things out, there would be a tendency that you’d get hurt. Ouch!
Oh well, patience is virtue. No need to rush. Time will come. Maybe not now, but someday

This is a little cheesy but please bear with it, one thing that this drama showed was the “acceptance” of one’s totality. When you love a person, other things won’t matter anymore. It’s love that drives you all over.

I’ve said too much, haven’t I?
Congratulations to everyone who has been part of this one-of-a-kind drama! You deserve praise.Thumbs up!
I guess I can't get this drama off my mind for a while. It'll do the same to you if you watch it. Lol
Ladies and Gentlemen, if you want to watch something that is overloaded with cuteness and morals, I recommend “HIGH SCHOOL - LOVE ON.” I promise, you won’t get bored. :)
